I'm more on the funny acedotes and history mysteries train. Channels like Tor's Cabinet of Curiosities, Camryn Suzanne, Cambrian Chronicles, J.J. McCullough, a few theological ones lately too.

Want some edutainment to throw on YouTube, to watch on TV while the boyfriend sleeps. So it can't be too grisly in case he can hear it, and it has to be something from a trusted channel if it's going to be informative, or a compelling enough pitch to try a new one out for.

The Monster Mash album by Bobby "Boris" Pickett and the Crypt-Kickers unironically has a narrative throughline about the Doctor and Dracula's fraught relationship

That's a funny album, as it only seems to be the big single that got the remaster and then we're in audio-crap-land. Will give it a proper go sometime, possibly.

Thinking harder, Deloused in the Comatorium definitely counts, although I've always found the narrative element goes over my head a bit. And I definitely need to listen to some Alice Cooper and Gary Numan albums in full.

I think I was in a streak of buying underwhelming new records anyway, but the Willie Mason album with We Can Be Strong on it was definitely a bit of a coaster purchase when I was a teen. Wonder how it's aged?

i excitedly bought a debut album from an artist who was making a name for himself on twitter. i shared it with people, i posted about how great it was, and then he unfollowed me and i never listened to the album again. traded it in eventually. i am petty as hell
