This weather is much harsher on my mother than it is on me. The insulation in her room is lacking and the cold does bother her arthritis which affects her mobility. You'd be helping with more than just keeping us warm.

To be fair, the degree of my dental malocclusion is so severe that the normal “cosmetic” surgery wouldn’t have worked

Anyway if you’re curious look into Maxillomandibular advancement for OSA. side note, I also had a bunch of surgeries before the jaw surgery that were totally unnecessary 😔

It’s a lot more common than you’d think, but a lot of people treat the issue in childhood (I opted not to have jaw surgery when I was 13 because they said it was optional 😭)

IF however, you find after a few months that it’s not helping, talk to dentist! For years I was approaching doctors when they don’t know anything, I should have been asking a dentist. Every time I mentioned UARS to a doctor they looked at me like I had two heads.

I’ve heard for some people it can take awhile, particularly because getting used to wearing the mask is enough of a distraction to one’s sleep as is lol

Also yeah even moderate OSA can fuck up your body over the long-term.
