Happy birthday, my friend! Enjoy the shorts weather, and let's hope for colder birthdays to come.

things every single republican president of your lifetime has done

- started a war in the middle east
- completely destroyed the economy

Interesting point there at the end β€” I haven't heard that, and I'd like to know more. I'm not arguing; I'd like to learn why.

Earlier this year, I was teaching my mom how to use AI, and she teased me for my politeness to it. I suggested to her that as she gets started using the tool, she should do the same, because it reinforces the habit of speaking politely no matter who the audience is. /She/ is the beneficiary, not it.

25.02.2026 20:46 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

The thing that the "should you be polite to AI" discourse generally leaves out (this article mostly included) is that there are reasons to be polite totally unrelated /to/ /the/ /AI/.

I am polite to my AI because I don't want to get into the habit of speaking to people online like they're robots.

I was on Survivor twice, and I’ll never be on Survivor again. And I don’t care. I’m going on the record.

My friend Jen is in the latest Scientific American talking about how educators can use AI to enhance the learning experience for students...complete with /good/ privacy advice (way to go Jen)!

@jmiers230.bsky.social, you'd like this.

So many simply refuse to learn this simple truth: β€œsorry if you were offended” IS NOT an apology, and never will be.

And their privacy team is legit. Like @legalminimum.bsky.social, I am avoiding the Bluesky dogpile, but I think highly of the k-ID team.

Yeah, I saw that Louis Sinclair broke both legs pretty seriously and Manon Audinet had abdominal injuries. Really awful. Still, I remember ten years ago when Bart Simpson was killed during the America's Cup (it was here in SF), so I'm just glad they're all okay.

Dude. I have been immersed in the Olympics this past week and am only now catching up on SailGP β€” I'd seen mention of this collision but actually watching it, I shouted loud enough to scare my cats. So glad everyone is okay; that could've been much worse.

22.02.2026 21:26 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah. I know. It's atrocious on every level. I'm wildly disappointed in Wired for this deuxmoi-level bullshit.

But for real, whoever was responsible for both of the images that ran with the article needs to sit in a corner and think about what they've done.

The whole article is a choice.

Love it when someone external to a marginalized community writes a sensationalized hit piece targeting that community relying on a bunch of stereotypes common only to a tiny subculture within that community, particularly when that community is already under attack.
