In the US I’m concerned we may see a return to foisting all disability and mental health concerns onto mental institutions and prisons. Disappearing inconvenient populations and subjugation of vulnerable people is a running theme here. Eugenics is of course the cornerstone.

I’m working on my public speaking on this little app, and so far it’s going just ok.

It’s good to hear that antivirals could work to support me even though I’m outside that window. My primary is the one who is holding out right now, and she is leaving the clinic at the end of the month. I’m back to square one for a doctor who understands complex health stuff.

I’m not surprised, even if Covid hadn’t screwed up our immunity, we are living in increasingly stressful times. I will have to look into if there’s any articles about it.

I really appreciate it, I never know what to advocate for because I’m the patient not the doctor, but it does seem like they’re very nonchalant about stuff. I was told calamine lotion or a lidocaine product if I had it. I have been alternating Sarna and calamine with cold compresses and showers.

That’s awful! I read that if you look like you’re going to have recurring outbreaks then they may authorize the shingles vaccine or at least give you a prescription for the antivirals.

Unfortunately they were dismissive of my initial symptoms so I missed the window for antivirals. They said you have to ask for them within the first 72 hours of onset of symptoms. I think if it was on another part of my body it would have been easier to identify, scalp is hard to see.

I was hoping to make it to 50 and get the vaccine, thus avoiding it altogether but my now immune-compromised, stressed-out 44 year old body was like “would you like some fresh Hell?”

The tense on this seems wrong. It is an ongoing issue. In my local COVID conscious group a man just posted that he was assaulted by another man on public transport because he was wearing a mask. It isn’t about feeling forced to comply. It about contempt for others and eugenics.
