Is the Timms Review of disability benefit PIP just a tick-box exercise?
Mikey Erhardt at Disability Rights UK writes about why the Stephen Timms review of PIP cannot be used as a smokescreen for cuts.
"Our good faith must not be held against us. Our involvement in the process will not automatically lead to our endorsement and support for any specific policy. Only then will this review be worth more than the paper it is written on."

Read @getyrselfactive.bsky.social's report into the personal and sector-wide impact of the UC Bill on Disabled people's physical activity.
Physical activity is a right, not a luxury, and with our access stripped back, it paves the way for the deterioration of other rights too.

375,000 accessible and adaptable homes that could have been built since July 2022.

Logo of Housing made for everyone (HOME) in the bottom left corner.
The numbers are in – and they’re worrying. Since July 2022, of 487,000 new homes built, we estimate over 375,000 feature inadequate minimum accessibility standards.
As members of the HoME coalition, we are calling for policy change to ensure every new home is accessible.

We are devastated to hear the Government's Universal Credit Bill has gone through. This will halve the UC health element for thousands of Disabled people, taking away £3,000 a year when they already cannot afford essentials.

Every Disabled organisation is against this bill. Slashing the Universal Credit health element in half, pushing more Disabled people is unconscionable - especially when the Government could easily tax the rich.
