This shot was total luck.
Was the first time out with the 200-500, this bird lands in front of me. I am following it, I hear a splash, and shoot a burst. The fish was down the hatch in 2 secs. I wasn’t even looking though the view finder

Thank you, Loretta. I have heard that whitetails can jump pretty darn high, especially for some tasty garden veg. We don't have that problem in the burbs around this way.
