Half the internet seems to be down thanks to the us-aws-east-1 outage

Perplexity, Amazon .com, Signal all down (just 3 services I tried to use)

When aws-us-east-1 sneezes, the whole world feels it indeed

Reminds me on how much care needs to go into making sure that communication channels are such that neither the sender nor the receiver have to carry the bulk of the effort so that the message is understood.

Sorry for making this way too generic than it needs to, but it just got me thinking.

The new #Develocity #IntelliJ plugin's Live Build Timeline helps you find issues like a faulty input file configuration causing redundant test tasks to run every time.

This fix took the build from 18s to just 1s!

When you choose a language, you’re also choosing a community and their views and goals. I love how much the Zig community cares about fast builds and tight feedback loops.

My favorite thing about LLMs is that when it tries to fast-talk its way through an issue and I ask for facts, figures, and proof, I know I won’t have to manage an ego on the other side.

In other news, if I disappear right after the singularity, you know what happened.

I think the prediction wasn’t that far off. If you only consider what electricity automated it probably exceeded it. What we are really bad at imagining are the new opportunities people can take on once some task becomes automated.

3-0 blitz is probably even more time-constrained than 2-1 bullet -- I won plenty of """games""" #manyairquotes by simplifying a winning game and relying on increments when decisions became easier, which is a strategy I'm not really sure you can apply without increments.

The penetration is still impressive from a GTM perspective, but either the estimate you shared is off by an order of magnitude, or the numbers shared by GitHub need some understanding before drawing conclusions.

100 million developers and counting There are now 100 million developers around the world using GitHub. Here’s what this meansβ€”and why it’s just the beginning.

GitHub reported to have crossed 100M users a couple of years ago (github.blog/news-insight...) and apparently it was announced at Build earlier this year they crossed the 150M (www.linkedin.com/pulse/github...).
