That sounds super interesting - we'll be running a Dagstuhl on HCI games research in the same week, so hopefully there'll be time to learn more about yours over breakfast. :)

Ha! I just read a paper on VR accessibility that uses AI for scene description, and kept wondering whether it wouldn't be easier to pull data from the engine and try to do something meaningful with that. So... thanks for showing that it works, even if in a slightly different setting.

The advantage of being a light sleeper in unfamiliar environments: Waking early and having time to explore. This time it's TU Graz - looking forward to joining #fdg2025 today to talk about equitable access to games. #fdg

UTwente has such a beautiful campus. Also an odd trip down memory lane, the last time I was in the area must've been around 2003 for Drome 10.

tldr: Interactive seat maps have potential to convey venue accessibility, but are often designed for categories of people that do not reflect diversity of attendees. A better solution would be to think in seat categories. For more detail and nuance - read the full paper! 2/2

We show that sports technology for disabled people often prioritizes health over leisure (although this doesn't need to be a dichotomy, of course), and that value frameworks for the design of sports technology need to be expanded to reflect perspectives of disabled persons. 2/3

The image shows a flyer for an interview study about using virtual reality while lying down for people with limited mobility. It uses bright colors with stylized images of a wheelchair user using VR and a person lying on a bed. The colors are mostly teal with some orange highlights. At the bottom right is a QR code for signup leading to the same page as in this post.

Interview participants needed: VR while lying down has been researched for non-disabled users, but nothing is known about disabled people's needs and preferences when using VR while reclining on a chair, or lying on a couch or bed.
