Mine cost £8k for solar and battery. You can’t tell me that that can’t be cheaper on hundreds of new builds. Heat pumps don’t cost £10k with Government grants (Octopus are quoting under £5k). Again, cheaper in a new builds as you can design the system around the house.

I’ve spent my entire life saying to people, with a sigh, “no, I don’t have a brother called Gordon “. Fine. However, the kind of women who are portrayed as “Karen’” are pretty much all absolutely awful. It’s not nice. I’m not sure where this idea comes from that all terrible women are ‘Karen’.

And it’s not “unfortunate “for Karen to have the name she has. Her parents gave her the name believing it to be a beautiful name (all parents do). Every time people use it as an insult they disrespect every person whose name actually is Karen. The name means “pure”.

Why tax cars? Car users need to pay for roads, policing, pollution … are you seriously suggesting those who cycle or walk should pay for these things out of general taxation?

I agree to proper taxes on wealth. But you’d need to find an extra £25b on top of what’s needed now if you remove car fuel/mile taxes. If you think about it, fuel duties is a mileage tax.

I can’t even imagine how horrified and angry people and families the January 6th attempt attempted coup. They put themselves in the front line, defending the constitution and democracy only to be slapped in the face by Trump. We still don’t understand over here in the UK how Trump could run again.

Tell that to the Brexit supporting Conservatives and Reform in the UK. They want to impose even higher trade sanctions on us when trading with the EU. When reality struck, Johnson’s Conservatives tried to limit the damage (to a loss of 4%GDP). A Reform Government would make it a lot worse.
