Families belong together.
Every family deserves safety.
Every child deserves healthcare and education.
That's why we're launching our campaign for refugee family reunion.
Weβll be uniting alongside hundreds of other campaigners and representatives from grassroots migrant-led groups, unions, faith communities and organisations in the asylum and migration sector.

When you close safer pathways, you donβt make desperation disappear, you just reroute it, meaning more people will be forced into taking dangerous journeys to save their lives.
Singling out these countries, knowing so many people have already been displaced due to conflict, is especially cruel.

03.03.2026 09:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The Home Office is already struggling to process asylum claims in a timely and accurate manner. The administrative burden will only multiply with this change. In reality, itβs likely that many people will remain in the country without legal status. We'll see more destitution and more detention.
02.03.2026 10:35 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0This change will trap people who have fled war and persecution in a constant state of uncertainty. After years waiting in limbo for an asylum decision, people will now face a new type of stress and instability, unsure if they will fall out of status at their next review.

π¨Starting today, people granted refugee status in the UK will be given temporary protection of just 30 months.
This temporary protection model, inspired by Denmarkβs approach, will undermine integration, making it much more difficult for people to find work and rebuild their lives.

β οΈBREAKING: A powerful result in Gorton & Denton.
Voters rejected the divisive policies of Reform and Labour that have been designed to target migrant communities.
Manchester chose hope over fear and made it clear: this is not who we are.

For decades, hostile language has been seeping into policy. In recent years, we've seen it fuelling hostility on our streets and tension in our communities.
Grateful for the Guardian spotlighting this increased hostility in rhetoric in their recent analysis:

Too often, people face this period with little support, or relying on friends, volunteers and organisations who want to help but aren't always sure how, especially in such a rapidly changing environment. This role exists to change that.
26.02.2026 15:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Over many years of working alongside people recently granted refugee status, we have seen how the moment of transition, when someone leaves asylum accommodation and tries to find a home of their own, can significantly impact the opportunity to build a stable life.

Stopping families separated by war and persecution from reuniting is beyond cruel.
Our Government must not be allowed to abandon its duty to safeguard children.

Orange text box reads "migration is a good thing"
Migration stats are out today, so here's a reminder that fewer people moving to this country, and fewer people being given sanctuary, is nothing to celebrate or strive for.
