Feels like there was a huge lack of hype. Also even though it reviewed pretty well it feels like the negatives were very easy to learn about while the things that are new and exciting got buried under the negative talk about the npcs and open world.

I dunno about this. I feel like Silent Hill f was a good game on it’s own. But with the expectations on what a Silent hill game should have it was not overly impressive. To me at least. Less scary and (might be nostalgia fog but) less puzzly than the first four entries. Felt a bit formulaic.
