This is despite the fact that the US had backed his presidency. Something interesting to note is that, despite the chaos of Peruvian politics, US support was often an anchor of power. Not this time. The collapse of the US hegemonic role in the entire hemisphere is noticeable. 2/3

In case you missed it, Jose Jeri, the current President of Peru, has been ousted. Accusations of sexual assault, a set of late-night young female visitors to the presidential palace, and very shady deals with Chinese interests seemed to have triggered his fall. 1/3

I honestly hope that all those US citizens appalled by what the US is doing in its territory, get as appalled and angry when the US does/promote that abroad. Because THE US HAS BEEN DOING THAT FOR OVER 100 YEARS.

Furthermore, at a certain point, we have to recognize that the safest thing for the world would be for the USA to be too busy engaging in a civil war and too weakened to directly threaten Latin America, Canada, and Europe, or indirectly promoting chaos or harming the rest of the planet. 2/2

Germany, other NATO allies sending troops to Greenland amid Trump threats Trump said Wednesday that anything less than U.S. control of Greenland would be "unacceptable" in a warning to NATO allies.

European states are catching up fast to the fact that the US is operating under a new set of rules that have little to no connection to those of the post-WWII order. Canada and other countries would be wise to act in the same way. The UN-based legal order is gone.

Trump is bragging about the re-emergence of the Monroe Doctrine under his regime. Yes, the foreign postition that claims that Latin America is under US control and they can decide how to run or if/when to colonize. And of course, he claims the US will run Venezuela for the foreseeable future.

If you didn't get an academic position because you were white, I feel sorry for you for being deranged enough to believe that that is the real reason you didn't get a job. So, in summary, if you think you were denied an academic job for "being white," all I can say to you is LOL.

Anyhow, hopefully Trump will find another way to make easy money instead of pushing for a war that will devastate so many contries in one stroke. 7/7

Maybe they will go back to their usual "blue no matter who," kind of politics. Forgetting that at the end of the day, Democrats and Republicans embrace the same kind of genocidal and war mongering techniques. At least the same for those who suffer them. 6/7

Now there is nothing but "yeah we want oil and we are willing to send our soldiers to die and spend billions of public funds, to make a few billonaires a bit wealthier." 5/7

Bush at least presented fake evidence to the UN, we all knew it was fake except the majority of US citizens, sure, but at least there was that to give to their soldiers before they went to commit attrocities to Irak. 4/7

This, I assume, will be particularly hard to justify when their sitting president has literally said that its because Venezuela has stolen "land and oil" from the US. Which is an insanely weird and nonsensical claim. 3/7

But, if the US does invade Venezuela, I do wonder what kind of justification they would find to apease their minds when creating what could easily be the worst refugee crisis in the continent, and the possible massive loss of lives. 2/7

I know regular US citizens and soldiers are specially good at self-deceptio. They are experts in pretending they are the good guys of history and that every genocide, invasion, and atrocity they commit (constantly), is for a good reason. 1/7
