A few years ago, at Christie's in New York, the hand-written manuscript (is that tautology?) with all the marginal notes and alterations came up for auction. My daughter works for Christie's in London, but I asked her if she could get me a copy of the catalogue. She did: signed by the man himself.

I believe that when it was released it was the longest single ever, and held that record until Don Maclean's American Pie.
I wouldn't put much money on that though.

And we in the UK call our NHS hospitals after the Windsors (Prince of Wales this, or Queen Mary that, or Royal the other) when the parasites charge rent rather than contribute anything.
