or they let someone they believe is smarter than them do all the thinking and then just parrot whatever that other person said without really understanding it or questioning it at all

i think the biggest issue with people who try to "solve" art is that they often believe there's only one right answer and once they think theyve found it they stop thinking any further and dismiss other interpretations
