I think fandoms have gotten stuck to the whole idea of everything needing to be exactly like in the canon or its wrong. and if you want to make something different you need to make an elaborate AU just for that. thats so dumb. why cant we just... do things? without having to worry about it so much?

and then you stop and think... fanfics dont need to be canon compliant. theyre FANfics, not real. no one is going to care if a character does something they should not do bc it isnt canon, its FAN work.

all the otherwordly things the characters in db can do has made creating fanfic so... boring. the characters can fly, so going on a long road-trip isn't necessary. namekians dont need to sleep or eat and can self-heal so 🅿️passing out from exhaustion or getting sick isnt likely etc

I love how the waterfall from Lord Slug became such a big part of 🅿️-lore, and even bigger part of 🅿️🍚-culture. Such a small little detail but people took it and now everyone just knows "the waterfall" that is referenced in many ship-fics. I freaking LOVE it 💜

I adapted the first chapter of a DBZ fanfic and I still wanna make chapter 2, but so far this is the most favorite thing I've ever made. A passion project of pure indulgence with every page and I love it so very much.
