It's #FossilFriday, let's dive into some amazing fossil lobsters from France!

A recent article from some colleagues at the @cr2p.bsky.social studied beautifully preserved lobsters from La-Voulte-sur-Rhône (162 Mya). X-ray synchrotron tomography revealed internal soft organs and even allowed sexing!

Nouveau reportage Nota Bonus avec le Muséum National d'Histoire de Paris sur son exposition lumineuse "Jurassique en voie d'illumination". On me voit face à un des dinosaures de l'exposition, sur un fond illuminé de différentes couleurs, et avec entre nous l'expression "Jurassic Woaw !".

Avec Jurassic Park, dès qu'on parle du Jurassique, on pense aux dinosaures, et pis… c'est tout !

Ovulate cone of Schizolepidopsis gerriennei (holotype, IRSNB_b_9671). a whole fossil in its sandy matrix, b imprint of scales in the center of the ovulate cone, c imprint of scales at the base of the ovulate cone with black arrow pointing at the imprint of a bilobed scale, dcomplete preserved apex of the ovulate cone.
