How _heavy_ the era's clothes so often appear. (Sitting as I am in 30deg). For some perverse (argotic?) reason I think he may be my favourite so far of your subjects.

The Vice-Presidency, according to one of its holders, John Nance Garner (FDR's VP 1936-41), was β€˜not worth a bucket of warm piss’. He had not, of course, met the exploitative possibilities afforded a Trump appointee.

Deleting the β€˜history’ and rebooting finally helped me. But the damage had been done. Fortunately I have now sorted it and can, what a relief, return to amassing citations for β€˜fist fucking’ and it’s kin as found by the late Dr Simes.

Just want to thank google once again for blocking my gmails via gemini. The vital code, concerning my ill wife's health, turned up an hour ago. It was good for 15 mins. This expired long before I managed to escape from gemini. May an old man curse every person involved.

I have already (years ago I imagine) told gmail settings that I do not want gemini or any other 'smart' (AI I assume) programs. Yet the wretched logo will not remove itself. Nor when it comes up (a mis-click?) is there any obvious way of removing it. Time to quit gmail, I guess. Any recommendations.

@developers.google.com I have just lost an hours work thanks to an ad for gemini jumping into my gmail mailing and making it impossible to access gmail. It does not offer a turn-off. This is atrocious. Can anyone explain what I need to do.

@newsfromgoogle.bsky.social How do I get your ad for Gemini off my gmail screen. I have just lost an hour's work when I needed to check a time sensitive email and this ad overrides my mailing. Thanks for nothing.

I am in the middle of a vitally important connection. I need to check an email. I have an ad for fucking Gemini. It seems to have no off switch. Please can someone help.

They told me it couldn't be done. They told me I was crazy to try. Un cosmopolite sans racines fou! But I searched. And I found. Smoked haddock (not a fish of the Med) in my southern French seaside city. Bring on the rice, the onions, the curcurma and the cardamom. Kedgeree! Yaar! You're back!

Derelictions Down Under Much Treasure, Less Trove

The fate of the Aus. Nat. Dict. is still moot, but bets are on the pinchfarts and one of the world's great lexicographical projects will be killed off. In 2022, in honour of Trove, the then threatened database of Oz papers, I wrote this.
