Today, @imperialecri.bsky.social hosted its inaugural ECR Showcase event. I had the pleasure of introducing Jack Leeming's keynote and presenting prizes to some of our amazing ECRs. Thanks so much to the hardworking ECRI staff for putting this together.

Said bye to work experience students from Imperial Maths School. By the end of the week we were discussing the Curry-Howard correspondence, dependent type theory, eigendecompositions, induced matrix norms, the halting problem, PAC-learning, Occam's razor and more!

Congratulations to @martaandronic.bsky.social and Wendy Li, whose paper (joint with me) "PolyLUT: Ultra-low Latency Polynomial Inference with Hardware-Aware Structured Pruning", an extended version of our conference paper on PolyLUT, has been accepted by IEEE Trans on Computers!

Enjoyed hearing all the great work our @imperialeee.bsky.social MEng students had done for their final year projects, yesterday. Including Wendy Li, who I cosupervised with @martaandronic.bsky.social on LUT-based FPGA neural networks. Today we have Computing Department presentations.

This week I look forward to welcoming three Year 12 students from the Imperial College London Maths School, who will be spending a week of work experience with me. Today, we will be attending the presentations of final-year MEng EEE students together.

I'm not sure I understand the distinction between 'evidence-based' and 'social-based' constructs - doesn't seem to be a meaningful dichotomy to me?

I think neurotypes (though changeable and socially constructed) are useful because of "clustering" in the high-dim space corresponding brain/mind/body. Simply put: there are commonalities that can be useful. Also: recommend reading @dr-nicky.bsky.social 's and @drrobertchapman.bsky.social 's books.
