My grandparents’ house is up for sale and of course I had to go have a nosy. I didn’t expect all their furniture to be as it was and see photos of them clearly still displayed in the room. It’s as if they’ve just nipped out and will be back soon, as it’d always been since I was a child.

It doesn’t matter what most people want to read. Write for yourself first and foremost, and if anyone else loves it too, be it one person or one hundred people, that’s a bonus. From what I’ve seen, your writing is adored and you absolutely do belong and fit in.

He can sit on my lap, gorgeous boy!

Fi has jumped onto my lap the past two nights after I’ve read only a few pages, and I’m two chapters behind my mum now.

That’s the only answer which makes sense.

How do you read massive books when the cat wants to sit on your lap? I don’t have the strength to hold it up, nor the heart to move her.

Bloody love Kathy Burke. Just finished reading ‘A Mind of My Own’ with my mum and we’ve been having the loveliest chats about Kathy the past few evenings. She’s so genuine and warm and hilarious and I wish she was my friend. I’m going to have to read it again.
