That’s how I feel about everything I do in life.

We’ve started S2 of The Night Manager and are disappointed Pine’s new alias isn’t Johnny Bonsai.

Finished Cuckoo (watched for Esther Smith) and the best line is easily: β€œthere’s nothing wrong with you, Steve. You’re one of Jim Henson’s most realistic creations.”

All the good stuff. This is why I’ve closely followed your recommendations for years.

B12 day! That should put a little bit more life into me for another three months πŸ₯±

My grandparents’ house is up for sale and of course I had to go have a nosy. I didn’t expect all their furniture to be as it was and see photos of them clearly still displayed in the room. It’s as if they’ve just nipped out and will be back soon, as it’d always been since I was a child.

It doesn’t matter what most people want to read. Write for yourself first and foremost, and if anyone else loves it too, be it one person or one hundred people, that’s a bonus. From what I’ve seen, your writing is adored and you absolutely do belong and fit in.

Fi has jumped onto my lap the past two nights after I’ve read only a few pages, and I’m two chapters behind my mum now.

How do you read massive books when the cat wants to sit on your lap? I don’t have the strength to hold it up, nor the heart to move her.

The Sense of an Ending. And Shuggie Bain. And Orbital, too. I genuinely cannot choose only one!

For some people that’s probably part of the appeal. I romanticise the gloominess of it myself.

Bloody love Kathy Burke. Just finished reading β€˜A Mind of My Own’ with my mum and we’ve been having the loveliest chats about Kathy the past few evenings. She’s so genuine and warm and hilarious and I wish she was my friend. I’m going to have to read it again.

We have it on our Halloween playlist, which gets spun throughout October. It’s right after Evil Eye, so when I hear that outside of this playlist I expect OutKast to follow it.
