Florence Nightingale blue plaque unveiled at Derby former hospital A plaque also honours William Ogle who was in charge of the hospital which has now become housing.

Our Medical Museum Curator, Beth Rawson, attended the unveiling ceremony with some of our museum artefacts, including the hand from the Florence Nightingale statue on London Road, and the ceremonial hammer used by Queen Victoria to lay the foundation stone of the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary.

Last Friday, blue plaques for Florence Nightingale and William Ogle were unveiled at The Pepperpot in the Nightingale Quarter in Derby, the former site of the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary.
