Many media outlets around the world reported Camilla Hempleman-Adams as the first woman to trek solo across Baffin Island, causing outrage among some Nunavummiut.
Yes, her claim insults Inuit culture and history. It *also* insults geography, and the hundreds if not thousands of other tourists who've traversed this route. Qik to Pang crosses one small *corner* of Baffin Island, and is Nunavut's most popular long-distance hike. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

While superficially funny, this post assumes that Baffin Island sucks and that the Arctic should be treated as a gulag. Both of these are sadly colonial assumptions. I suggest sending Trump voters to suburban Toronto, the real hell on Earth.
