I think it is fine for people to only want to engage with comfort art, it's often a response to stress/trauma in other areas of their life.

However an individual's wants/needs should not dictate that their society as a whole should not have weird, disturbing, emotion causing art.

Much love, but please could you not use "the disabled" we are disabled people. Using "the" in that way is dehumanising - which I know is not your intention.
