I have gposed and written some of Thancred's worsts for the #valtiaverse but this is a gift for him. A happy little ever after for the man who began with nothing and no one.

Its for you, Thancred. This time it *is* for you.

Thancred walks in Idlyshire alongside his granddaughter, an Elehyur adopted by Gaia and Ryne on the First. Shard travel has been well established for decades, and his family visits him often.

His granddaughter has been talking about proposing to her own sweetheart, and Thancred's heart is aflutter somehow on her behalf with nerves.

He can't help but smiling looking at how she absolutely brims with joy. The world is still the world, and it is not a story that has an end, but there is more peace to go around than before, and people still strive for good.

His shoulders continue to give him trouble, and straightening his back these days is a chore, but he doesn't pay it much mind. Good posture is for young people.

Thancred takes an afternoon stroll with his granddaughter. He is happy living alongside those he loves. He is finally right where he belongs.

#Thanuary2026 bonus: idk what's wrong with me but here take a look at the version of Thancred's mom in a lineup with him and the siblings he doesn't know about.

Finding a place to tuck into sleep is one of the first priorities he learns once they kick him out of the orphanage.

Since Thancred is like the stabilizing force and whatnot I wanted to like have him kind of literally holding something akin to that in idea so I was gonna have him originally holding like a star or a universe (this version here) but I think the close shot is more succinct.
