The Woodpecker is perched in an unusual spot. What you can’t see in the image is his mate at the feeding station. They are a beautiful bird and far easier to photograph in the spring when they’re twitterpated!

Cankerworms (inchworms) have been falling from the trees like rain. Floating on fine strands of silk when disturbed. American Robins will grid search driveways looking for these worms. Bluejays on the other hand go to the source.
