280 municipalities and regional collaboratives across the state were awarded over $4 million in grants today. The Sustainable Materials Recovery Program (SMRP) boosts resiliency, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and makes it easier for residents to minimize waste.

MassDEP's speakers were Ian Jarvis, Environmental Engineer and Brian Harrington, Deputy Regional Director, who spoke on The Mass Estuaries Project, Nitrogen Sensitive Areas and MassDEP's Shi Chen, Environmental Analyst, and Duane LeVangie, Water Management Program Chief, who spoke on 40 Years of Water Use Under the Massachusetts Water Management Act.

Thanks to the New England Water Works Association for hosting its 2025 Water Resources and Sustainability Symposium last week. MassDEP spoke about the Mass Estuaries Project, Nitrogen Sensitive Areas, and 40 Years of Water Use under the Massachusetts Water Management Act.
