I have just got back home after spending the last two and a half hours of sitting in a random field surrounded be nature and peace.

Being autistic means sometimes I struggle to cope with my surroundings.

I will sit in a field with very little around me. It's really nice.

This is a goooood week for me obviously.

I'm not a maths autistic.

But I am a counting numbers on my hand while getting anxious as I do this because I will probably make mistakes autistic.

Some autistics love the Christmas lights.

Some don't and struggle to cope with this.

We AIN'T all the same.

Trying to focus on your routines and being autistic is just not fun at times.

What am I doing ?

What should I be doing ?

Why sometimes I just can't remember ?

You could be fine one day and then the next day is here and everything seems like a total mystery.

I find it funny when autistic me knows a lot about something and then someone who knows nothing about it tells me that I'm wrong.

It's like they're testing me, because it's like they're insulting my intelligence while also showing their lack of knowledge.

There are so many kinds of intelligence.

Yep, just finished playing lake, I thought it was awesome.

This is how many autistics become very isolated.

Many of us have significant support needs in areas where no support is available or it's unreliable at best - like emotional regulation, that we are unable to do much stuff without assistance. If we don't have assistance, we don't do it and then if we don't do it, no one sees we have a support need.

You’re not mildly autistic.

This is going to be a tough take for some out there but that doesn’t exist.

I am sick and tired of seeing posts that describe themselves or others as mildly.

Being autistic and not remembering who you are but I certainly remember your dogs name, how old your old your dog is, when you got your dog etc etc.

Many autistics feel more at peace with animals than humans.

Many of us that are autistic also love playing video games.

Games tend to be a lot more predictable than the outside world. They can be social, but also solo. Even the solo ones have communities built around them so people engage in if they choose to do so. Along with sense of accomplishment.

Being a mad person is so different from being an autistic person, but some people are both, & none of us are close to neurotypical, but being under the same umbrella as nuerodivergent (once applied mostly to autistic people) requires us to still note our distinctions. It's a really big umbrella.

I wrote “playing with his Legos” in an upcoming article because I was being cute. Showed it to two autistic friends who are men. Both of them were like “you absolutely cannot say Legos, you’ll get crucified”

None soren.

It turns out many will say to you that's not what autism is.

It also turns out even if many don't say it, they will be thinking it anyway and just give you that look. You know the one. The look of you don't know what the hell you're on about look. The look of they know you better than yourself.

Just had a doctor interrogate the autism diagnosis on my records due to the ‘high levels of emotional empathy’ observed during our consultation. He then suggested that being a writer and autistic was, in his mind, highly unlikely.

Sorry, lads…but am I in the wrong century?
