I have to admit at some point that I will, in fact, never have my shit together. It's just not gonna happen, is it.

Debuting my first new act in ~3 years, and performing solo for the first time in almost a year, so of course I'm panicking and unprepared and running late and feeling absolutely loopy on only 2 hours of sleep.

2+ minutes of this guy saying absolutely nothing.

It's 6am let's see how fast I can bleach my roots before I have to wake the fuck back up at 10am.

Me: I'm going to be so productive tonight.
Also me: Whoops, was productive on the wrong thing!

Late to the party here but yeah.

When you think you're maybe gonna finish a thing today but then it becomes inevitable that you need to put an invisible zipper in the thing.

One day I hope to strike the right balance and find a healthy pace, but I'm afraid that day's not going to come anytime soon.

Every time I do something selfish (take a little 3-day trip to visit my friend on Galiano, edit some photos,) I pay for it by having to condense all the work I have to do into an even shorter window of time, which just leaves me even more stressed and rushed. Love that for me.

Is this situation a direct result of my inability to manage my time and projects properly, and of my desperation to break even financially? Yes. Is working while tired slowing me down and causing more delays and mistakes than I'd be dealing with if I were better-rested? Also yes.

More all-nighters than I can count. Several micro-naps a day. Downtime only when I'm eating and literally can't sew. Have spent every date with my partner this year passed-out/asleep. Making time for friends and events, but my introvert heart needs to be alone and not-working, sometimes. I'm dying!

Nearly 7 weeks into 2026 and I AM SO TIRED OF WORKING MY ASS OFF ALL THE TIME. I love my clients - they literally sustain me - but holy Christ if I could just experience a couple days WITHOUT a deadline screaming towards me like a runaway freight train that would be GREAT.

Oh wow, happy 10th! The fulltime art hustle is equal parts punishing and rewarding, but you made it work and we're lucky to have you. Pics or it didn't happen, right?

Thank you to my friend @fayehavoc.bsky.social, who recently sewed an insane 20' single seam to help me create a fabric backdrop for the studio. This project will save thousands in paper costs while reducing my carbon footprint, and significantly decrease my business's reliance on US made supplies.

Anyways. It was this one. All I remembered was singer-guy warble-yelling "no, no, no" over and over again, as a chorus (and an expanse of ocean on the album cover). My pitch-perfect rendition into that Google sing/hum-a-song identifier program kept suggesting "Hello" by Adele, so I'd given up.

So tired and messed-up during this I-can't-count-how-manyth all-nighter I've had to pull this year that my brain clicked and was suddenly able to identify a song I've been trying to remember the title, artist, album, ANYthing of, for WEEKS, now.

It was okay, in the end! I was just being really down on myself. I gotta remember that I'm way better at this than I think I am.

Sure would be great if, after a week of stressing about this project and an 18-hour sewing marathon, the piece I've been working my ass off to finish for someone's show on the weekend was, y'know, NOT a steaming pile of failure.

Something that really grinds my gears is people going "technological advancement is happening so fast, I heard it directly from the people who stand to profit directly from said technological advancement" like...y'all should know better by now.
