Two things can be true at the same time. The regime in Iran is oppressive. AND the United States and Israel are NOT launching strikes out of humanitarian concern. Empire has never moved out of love for the people it claims to save. It moves for power, influence, and control. We have seen this before. Iraq was sold as liberation and left hundreds of thousands dead and a region destabilized. In the 50s, the U.S. helped overthrow Iran's democratically elected leader to protect oil interests. Libya and Afghanistan were framed as protection and freedom. Both ended in chaos and long term suffering. Empire talks about freedom while practicing dominance, and ordinary people always pay the price. You can oppose an authoritarian regime and still reject military escalation. And when you see big accounts celebrating the "liberation of Iran", understand that some are naive about history and some benefit from being close to power. War is profitable for a few. It is devastating for everyone else.
