A paper program for Constellations with lots of events listed. Beside it a newspaper opinion headline complains of “the sheer audacity of these whiny writers”

Constellations: Not Writers Week begins tomorrow. Over 100 authors are participating in more than 50 events across 20 venues. And we have raised enough donations to pay them all ASA rates, plus print these paper programs.

With crackdown on Gaza slogans, Crisafulli takes Queensland into places that even Bjelke-Petersen wouldn’t go The current visit by Israeli President Isaac Herzog calls to mind the protests that surrounded the 1971 Springbok tour. I can’t think of a social moment that consistently draws such a young, diverse crowd as the anti-genocide protests

Craven speaking at the Skynews antisemitism Summit last year states if he was still a Vice Chancellor he'd break hateful occupation or demonstration and engage police in prosecuting demonstrators, and impose disciplinary processes, and if that was legally challenged he would create new harsher disciplinary measures. Craven was handpicked by Combatting Antisemitism Czar, Jillian Segal, as the "independent" assessor to judge her, and now the Government's University Report Card project.

Combatting Antisemitism Czar™️, Jillian Segal's, hand-picked University Report card independent assessor - Greg Craven - brings novel views and thoughts to the position.

It’s quite something that so many Australian institutions are doing all they can to defend apartheid

The racism of Australian institutions is so off the charts that it doesn’t occur to a major newspaper to seek reactions from Palestinians to a visit from the president of the genocidal regime. Palestinians are simply non people.

Is there a previous example where a newspaper has published as many attacks on a Jewish woman as the Oz has unleashed against Adler? It’s
reminiscent of the Islamophobic campaigns against Yassmin Abdel-Magied and Randa Abdel-Fattah except against a prominent Jew.

Fossil fuel companies gave millions to buy political access and influence before the 2025 election Prior to the 2025 federal election, Labor received more than $1.06 million from the fossil fuel industry, while some $2.92 million went to the Coalition.

I can’t see how any institution that implements this can survive as a university in the way that term has previously been understood. If staff are forced to state that they accept the claims of the Israeli apartheid state (which is what the proposed ‘training’ entails) what’s left?

Imagine you're an artist who's worked hard for years, finally getting a chance to present work in a major, critically significant exhibition – work you hope connects with audiences and convinces critics – and you're told someone with no skills in your field will be doing a 'walk-through'

It's a record 48.9°C summer. The media doesn't care, and there's a few reasons why It's getting hotter, but politicians — and crucially, the press that pushed them — don't seem to care. It's all the result of the slow but steady collapse of global stability.
