the way the other students in their school talked abt ichiro early in the game was always very cruel to me

i personally dont think vengeance was the point of smtvv ironically enough lol, and i dont think there shouldve been any satisfaction derived from killing ichiro in the end. MC's subtle betrayal in the scene with mastema was a hidden catalyst that indirectly led to yuzuru's murder & everything after

yuzuru's lashing out at his friends over his own struggle with his identity once his codependency with miyazu was brought into focus, ichiro's inferiority complex, all led to them clinging onto flimsy ideals to try and maintain some sense of identity. a very slippery slope to radicalization

i think MC and his friends were in a cycle of betrayal and vengeance, and MC's betrayal of ichiro was when he left him behind alone with mastema in that scene. there were alr resentments brewing under the surface with the 3 boys and it was further exacerbated by their own individual troubles

i always found the scene where we first meet mastema in vengeance odd as i didnt know why we suddenly left ichiro behind. it was jarringly callous but i think that was a crucial turning point, since we left ichiro alone with his soon to be manipulator

he felt inferior to them and i think they were both complicit in further reinforcing this troubled dynamic, and ichiro just...snapped at some point. its more apparent in vengeance but mastema was able to pinpoint this vulnerability and exploit it

he's never known any real friendships that werent with people who were just trying to use him, whether for his family's wealth or for some sense of superiority by making him seem weaker and lesser. maybe he was hoping it would be diff this time with MC and yuzuru, but it ended up being the same way

i think a lot about ichiro and ive always found him to be a very pitiful character. hes somewhat of a deconstruction of the usual butt monkey underdog chara and he feels like someone who was always trapped within that role, in an oppressive top-down dynamic with everyone in his life

humans who had more potential were then set up to inherit this Knowledge. humans knew how to unite their Knowledge to create something far stronger

the old myriad gods could not have achieved this divided as they were with their own goals and motivations, so what was necessary was unity. in that sense perhaps stripping them of their Knowledge was necessary

He alone could not have defeated the 'system', so lucifer was required to defeat and consume him, thus building upon His Knowledge. then lucifer does the same to set up the conditions to allow for you to do the same

in that way, it's possible that God never intended for His rule to last forever, as He knew full well it wouldnt. He only needed it to last long enough to set up the conditions to allow those after Him to succeed in inheriting His Knowledge

so it's possible the throne of creation was limited to only being inheritable by descendants of the bull god in order to set up this direct line of inheritance, so the Knowledge could build to a point where it was then enough to break free. is one interpretation

the 'consumption' of Knowledge is figurative probably for something like how there are things we can't learn without personally experiencing it, so if there were some way to fully internalize this Knowledge, we wouldn't need to make the mistake ourselves first to experience it

i interpret the system and much of smtv to be allegorical, so the mandala system is something like the cycle of mistakes we make throughout history. its necessary for there to be some sort of 'inheritance' of Knowledge to build up what's necessary to escape from the 'system'

the ways we build upon what's been left behind.
taking this into mind and from what lucifer tells us in his boss fight i think the passing down of sorts of Knowledge was necessary to break free from the mandala system

i think smtv deals with themes of genealogy and how our heritage and past shape our futures. the necessity of maintaining some sort of history and legacy as we are the product of the things that came before us, even if it can be binding in some ways
