I’ve covered dozens of protests at the provinces’s southern office at the McDougall Centre, but today’s teacher rally was by far the largest by a measure. Truly massive turnout for teachers to express their anger at the government.

This year my smallest class is 36 students and, for the first time in 20 yrs of teaching, I have a class of more than 40. The speed limit around the school is 30. It strikes me that 2 of the most important reasons we even have a Prov Govt is to competently manage Public HC and Public Education...
But it seems like this govt neither cares for nor values these services or the people who work in them.

Proud to stand with teachers, students and families at the Alberta Legislature today.

A path winds through a dense forest, receding into the distance. The path is dirt and covered in fallen leaves, primarily yellow and brown. Tall trees line both sides of the path, creating a canopy overhead. A person, seen from the back, is walking along the path, wearing a blue jacket and a dark-colored backpack.
