HHS plans to cut the national suicide hotline’s program for LGBTQ youth In February, the program received an average of 2,100 contacts per day.

The federal government plans to eliminate services for LGBTQ youth who call 988, the national suicide and crisis hotline, according to a Health and Human Services budget draft leaked last week.

I worry about air quality for our staff and students. #lausd, please be online, at least through this next wind event. Not to mention all our families, including friends and relatives who have lost or are evacuated.

The quiet lull before another "wind event." I am allowing myself to do something other than watch the news. I feel guilty. That may not make sense to many people. When you are seeing your friend's homes burn or lively hoods being threatened, it's hard to allow yourself to feel "normal."

LA folks, did anyone hear that crazy thunder or explosion maybe around 4:00 or 5:00 a.m. this morning? I didn't hear anything about it but it was definitely loud enough to wake me up. Was it just thunder?
