Natural Disasters Are a Rising Burden for the National Guard - Inside Climate News New Pentagon data show climate impacts shaping reservists’ mission, in potential conflict with Trump’s drive to use them for law enforcement.

While Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth vows to erase climate change from the military agenda, new Pentagon data show the impacts of warming are shaping the National Guard’s mission.

Aerial view of part of the coast of Greenland, showing glaciers flowing through mountains and into a blue sea flecked with big and small icebergs.

Cold freshwater pouring off Greenland's melting ice cap and glaciers is messing with key ocean currents that help modulate the entire global climate ... Scientists say it's not a good thing.

New Report Marks a Decade of Progress, Challenges on Global Decarbonization - Inside Climate News Extreme shifts in federal climate policy will make it hard for the U.S. to reach the Paris Agreement targets, but action by states, cities and businesses could still deliver significant emissions cuts...

10 years after the Paris Agreement, a new report says the global climate policy glass is half-empty or half-full, depending how you look at it.

One of the more incredible stories out of LA this year has been how a taco review blog became the best on-the-ground coverage of ICE raids in the city.

They do a dispatch every day, follow-up on the kidnapped people (which almost no media outlet has done), and fact-check government claims.

Hopefully the whole Bari Weiss thing and Ezra Klein thing starts waking people up to the fact that corporate media is mostly populated with mediocre people who have made millions and gained unbelievable influence because they threaten nothing and tell wealthy people exactly what they want to hear.

Has anyone else been dealing with some serious headline whiplash recently?

Even for those of us who follow #climate and #energy matters closely, it can be hard to know what the hell is going on!

So here's a thread to help climate communicators get a grip on how to deal with this 🧡

Melting ice in the Arctic is changing important global ocean currents, and the consequences will widespread and serious.

What Happens When Socialists Are in Charge? Portland Offers a Glimpse.

Not only does this story get a number of basic facts wrong, it doesn’t take time to actually explore why Portlanders elected these folks. Coming in with a pre-baked PDX story to fit a NYT narrative about NYC is harmful, especially at this moment.

New Study Shows Disruption of Ocean Currents That Stabilize the Global Climate - Inside Climate News Clam shell growth rings contain clues about the looming potential for a tipping point into climate collapse.

The ocean south of Greenland is a global climate mixing cauldron, but human-caused warming is causing big problems there, potentially with global consequences.

Growth rings in the shells of long-lived clams help pinpoint ocean current tipping points that could trigger even more dangerous heatwaves, rapid sea level rise and other dangerous extremes.

There is a lot of scary stuff happening right now: political violence, constitutional violations, abuse of power.

But I am going to stay focused on posting about clean energy and climate change. Americans need reminders that climate change is *still* accelerating and we can do something about it.

I want to do a little crowd-sourcing in a very broad way to start out.

How would you say climate science has changed since the Paris Agreement was signed? What are new, significant scientific findings or conclusions that are relevant to to how we see the agreement 10 years on?
