07.12.2025 23:21 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I fear that some Europeans will still try to woo Trump. This has been his objective from day 1. His pretence at possibly supporting Ukraine has just been a stall and has worked to the extent that Europe have wasted most of this year not preparing for this eventuality. Theyโve been played.
07.12.2025 23:19 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Trump is looking for an โoutโ on Ukraine. His National Security plan makes it very clear that he sees Russia as an ally and Europeans as the enemy. If this doesnโt make genuine Republicans kick back nothing will.
07.12.2025 23:14 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0And so the backsliding begins.
Europe should now take all of Russian money that has been tied up and use it to fund support for Ukraine.
Is it not about time we stopped this? Itโs the same playbook as Trump has used.
04.12.2025 16:29 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0What I do have an issue with is the way NYT word the โfactsโ. In ref to Witkoff/Putin/Kushner meet it was described as โto discuss the conflictโ when the growing evidence suggests that they are discussing how to make business deals with little care for Ukraine or the Europeans.
03.12.2025 11:23 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I do have some sympathy for NYT. Further down that article, Khan states that โSome critics tend to assume that if weโre not clearly on their side, we must be on the other sideโ. 1/2
03.12.2025 11:20 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Itโs Christmas so how fitting that we have a pantomime. The US/Russia talks are a scam. Theyโre scheming on how to carve up Ukraine for their financial benefit.
The Europeans cannot allow Trump to stall this any longer.
Heโs always been Putinโs asset in the WH.
They should include GB News in that investigation.
02.12.2025 18:54 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It stops surely with immigrants. Itโs their fault.
02.12.2025 18:52 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0There are three certainties in life. Death, taxes and Putin continuing this war (even after a โpeaceโ deal is produced.
02.12.2025 18:51 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Joyce, if youโre looking for rational, critical thinking from this administration, youโre heading for disappointment.
02.12.2025 18:50 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0You just know that someone in the military is going to carry the can with this.
02.12.2025 18:48 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Good, because we got precious little answers last week. Hopefully one Q for Shah will be โwill you get rid of Gibb or weโll do it for you?โ.
02.12.2025 18:45 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Time to turn the page on this abomination.
01.12.2025 08:20 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0If you put that message on X youโd get all sorts of vile messages thrown at you.
Labour leadership has not covered themselves in glory thus far but in comparison to the hot mess that has been inherited or the hot mess that Farage would create, we need to appreciate that it was and could be worse.
Iโd be more concerned by his links to Putin and radical right wingers like /VanceMusk.
Most folks wonโt have even noticed this little local problem:

Maybe a tad premature.
Like the two Palestinians who had surrendered but were then murdered in the West Bank this week.
28.11.2025 23:46 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Heโs also giving Trump an โoutโ by promoting โplansโ which he knows Ukraine cannot accept which allows Trump to eventually walk away or justify him continuing to back Putin. Putin is right. The Europeans are notorious for blinking and they have done little to build capacity to offset US withdrawal.
27.11.2025 00:07 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It maybe theatre but itโs doing damage. This panto will go the same way as Israel/Gaza (340 Palestinians killed since โceasefireโ).
The damage comes from the Europeans deluding themselves that they can convince Trump to back Ukraine. I worry that Euro solidarity will fracture and leave Ukr hanging.
Shah and Gibb once again demonstrating partiality in who they cancel. And to think itโs the radical right that whine about free speech being under attack.
26.11.2025 15:47 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Hopefully Trump will know how he feels soon.
26.11.2025 08:45 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The right wingers on the BBC Board appeasing again. I feel sorry for the journalists that work there. How are they meant to hold power to account now?
26.11.2025 08:42 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Impartial to the core.
25.11.2025 21:44 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Sorry Brian if I misinterpreted your previous comment. When I read โlegal migrants are unwantedโ it sounded like you were against immigration.
25.11.2025 14:14 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Iโm sure I read similar comment in the early 1940s. Different country though.
25.11.2025 14:10 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Brian, I hope you are in good health and remain that way for many years. If not, you may require support from the likes of our NHS which would keel over without the tremendous efforts of immigrants.
25.11.2025 12:08 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0What seems to have been forgotten in all of this focus on illegal immigrants is that itโs a tiny segment of the whole. We are also in danger of making those who entered legally feel that they are unwanted. Stop pandering to Farage.
25.11.2025 08:39 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Their intervention may not have been ideal but in the spectrum of idealism, it was at the other end from how this president operates.
