After a year-long blockade and starvation campaign, the entire Armenian population of the Artsakh Republic was forcibly deported. This was the second Armenian genocide. Now, Armenian hostages are being tortured, and Armenian heritage is being systematically destroyed.

Today, we not only remember the genocide that took place in the Ottoman Empire and the ongoing erasure of Armenian life and culture in Western Armenia, but we also mourn what happened in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) in 2023.

In April, Armenians around the world commemorate the genocide committed in the Ottoman Empire. To this day, we are denied the right to return to our indigenous lands. Millions of Armenians were forced to flee, massacred, survivors in so-called Turkey have to hide their identities.

On April 26th, we will march from the Azerbaijani Embassy to the Turkish Embassy and join a vigil starting at 3 p.m.
