For over 25 years, FSD has been working to protect civilians from landmines and explosive remnants of war. As a #Swiss #NGO, we support affected communities worldwide through #humanitarian #MineAction, as well as environmental and #peace support projects.
In Shuli village, #Tajikistan, #RiskEducation encouraged local children and villagers to alert FSD about two AO-2.5 cluster munitions and one container. Their report made safe removal possible, protecting the #community.

Since resuming operations in March 2025, after the winter pause, FSD #deminers have successfully cleared one million square metres of land contaminated by explosive hazards in #Ukraine.
A school stadium & farmland are now #safe again—for kids to play & farmers to work.

Our team captured our ground preparation machine detonating an anti-personnel #mine (PFM-1). Despite the #explosion, the machine continued its work—followed, as usual, by a team of manual #deminers. 💥

In areas with high metal #contamination, clearing land with detectors is slow. That’s why FSD is trialling #mechanical mine screening in #Ukraine—machines sift through soil and isolate dangerous items—helping to speed up the process and complement traditional #clearance methods.
