I had a blob in my stupidly-narrow ear canal the ENT couldn’t get out & had to put me under - then still had issues w/it. I guess I used all my “tube cells” growing other things 🙊

He initially thought blood clot but it wasn’t and referred me to a specialist to enlarge my ear canals to prevent it.

Yikes. I missed the original post about this. That sucks. Hope he recovers quickly! Give him a gentle squeeze from us. Having had cranial surgery and updating my sinus floor plan, I fully understand how much that has to suck.

It’s a hot, lazy Sunday so I can’t do anything outside. Instead I am just staying naked inside and in my boredom used @galileo669.bsky.social’s well-worn office chair for a photo op before it’s retired. That chair has seen stuff.

Ours is buried too. I’ve lost equipment before I put these in. With storms increasing in frequency and severity due to all our continued dinosaur burning I’d recommend you do something. Put them on both ends if you’re not using properly installed/grounded shielded cabling.

They’re totally worth it. These are din rail mounted and simply grounded to utility on the branch circuit. I also have them outside, pole-mounted in a box feeding PoE switches/cameras/WiFi access points grounded to a portable generator rod driven in at the base of the post.

Do I need to start scheduling workshops for this stuff?

We had some super-close lightning strikes from a pop up storm yesterday and burned out 6 Ethernet surge suppressors between the house and our WFH offices/my work lab. These little $35 insurance policies protected tens of thousands of dollars of equipment so look into them if you are a network nerd.
