If you could reshuffle the leadership of any organisation or group who would you choose... and how would you decide who gets given which seat and responsibilities?

Chaplain to Church Army UK & Ireland. Not as funny as I think I am. Views my own.

06.09.2025 07:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Did a very long drive today...not quite the length of England but long enough...
...I live in an amazingly beautiful country!
(Was driving so no pictures)
It's too hot to safely type my current opinions!

....great Dr Who exhibition in Peterborough
Finally read Flowers for Algernon..and oh what a book it is!
So challenging, thought provoking and moving. Now I can see why it's one of the classics!
...and yes I know there is the musical, which I love, but for me the film still wins.
19.05.2025 19:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just finished reading Wicked. I'm not sure quite how you get from it to the film - the tone and focus of the book is very different - but I'm so glad they did.
Unusually for me, I found the film massively more engaging and enjoyable that the book. I'm sure other views are available!
...should have gone to specsavers...
16.05.2025 18:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ah...so single ladies who don't appear to share any of my interests but decide I'm worth following are a thing here now too...must be my amazing personality!
12.05.2025 09:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yes I have my finger on the cinematic pulse...ready to watch Monty Python hunting for the Holy Grail tonight!
07.05.2025 18:10 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sinners is an excellent film!
It is so much more than a slasher horror movie...sophisticated, thoughtful, challenging...and yes at times gory and scary.
I loved it.
For you!
18.04.2025 06:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes I've seen Snow White...and you know what?
It's nowhere near as terrible as I'd been led to believe.
Perfect? No.
Enjoyable? Absolutely.
Can't beat a holiday...thanks Portmerion, you were amazing!
23.03.2025 10:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Doing a lot of last things at church now. Last baptism today, last services in a fortnights time. Beginning to be surrounded by boxes...
Strange days!
So how is your Lent going?

Ash Wednesday challenges us to recognise our own sins and mortality. It puts life in our troubled world back in perspective
I'd like to report a crime...
Wicked was robbed of a whole bunch of small gold statues last night!
Intercessions could be interesting tomorrow!

22.01.2025 16:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Anyone else see a report about Davos but their brain says Davros?
...And then hopes there isn't really a link between them but think there could well be?
...maybe just me then!
...a few of us at least.
19.01.2025 16:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The William Tell film impressed me more than expected. It also unexpectedly borrows so much from Macbeth in language and imagery that it was occasionally distracting (at least to me).
If there is a follow-up I'm in!
(It's much more serious than the Muppets, but I'd love to see their version too!)
Sometimes you see a film and the story takes you to another world entirely...other times you are somehow seeing aspects of your own story on the screen. This can be a joyful or heartbreaking experience (often both), the challenge is you often have no idea it will have that impact when you walk in.

19.01.2025 08:19 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0How many people will note just what massive amount of wine Jesus makes in their sermon tomorrow?
And how the bridegroom doesn't suffer public humiliation?
And how few notice what is happening?
And...and...and...
