Hunting season is basically Oct.-Nov. in Maine. Hikers & hunters alike will be wearing blaze orange for the next two months for safety. I bet we see lots of them on the Appalachian Trail this fall. As a Guild, we stand united in opposition to anyone who uses their power and influence to silence the voices of writers, or anyone who speaks in dissent. If free speech applied only to ideas we like, we needn't have bothered to write it into the Constitution. What we have signed on to - painful as it may be at times - is the freeing agreement to disagree. Shame on those in government who forget this founding truth. We are in very dark times. It’ll take an entire political/social movement, an overwhelming rebuke at the polls, and a new vision of governance to unstick this country from whatever this collapse is.

This is nonsense. A district court decision holds just as much legal weight as a Supreme Court decision. The only difference is the district court’s ruling is appealable. But until you WIN an appeal a district court’s decision binds all parties, including the executive branch.

It’s infuriating that all of the hard-working investigative/beat reporters at the NYT have to constantly struggle against the half-brained musings of the paper’s more famous horse race commentators.

Does the @nytimes.com or at least its headline writer have a different understanding of the word “trading” from the rest of society?

Everytime you read one of these stories--and they've become daily now--remember that there are some functions that are just as critical but don't make obvious headlines. Nukes! Bird Flu! ATCs!

But food inspectors are probably the same--and they're not being recalled. and so on.

Wild that people are just willing to capitulate on something that polls already show to be unpopular with 2/3 - 3/4 of 🇺🇸, a result I was actually not expecting to see.

Should this be Democrats’ primary focus? Probably not.

But it’s not like opposing bad/idiotic policies is some finite resource!

Make your calls. Go to your town halls. Ask your state and local officials what they are doing under state and local law. Rest. Hydrate. Make soup for the hungry. Don’t let people tell you that you’re doing it wrong. Not a sprint. Not a marathon. A relay. Find your team. Thank you.

Every podcast I don’t listen to is called “Achieving the Limit with Duff and Ween” and gets sold for 300 million dollars while every podcast I do listen to is called “The Movie Toilet” and begs me to buy a t shirt so they can eat food

Even if lifelong, it would save substantial $ in our healthcare system associated with type ii diabetes, cardiovascular issues, etc. But prospects are very optimistic that it’s not necessary long term. And even if it was, generics would come soon enough. All to say RFK is very wrong on this issue.

The answer is, indeed, simple. Prescribe the weight-loss medications for those whom they will be effective, since those medications are what allow people to adopt and stick to a lifestyle change that works long-term.
