In the foreground are the tops of large grey rocks in a rock garden. Zinnia plants have been planted between the rocks and the photograph shows yellow zinnias. There are bright green leaves and new buds are starting to open. Behind the plant, in the top left corner, are leaves of a green and white hosta plant.

A bed of zinnias from last summer.

In the foreground is the shoreline of Lake Ontario. There are silhouettes of small narrow trees growing on the bank which leads down to the beach. On the horizon, the sun is starting to appear, turning the clouds in the sky shades of gold and orange, with patches of pale blue sky showing through. The orange and gold is reflected on the rippling water of the lake, as it slowly laps onto the sand.

The sun finally puts in an appearance. Taken March 2025.

Me too Margo. I should have said that the photo was taken last summer.

They have a very subtle frangrance.

Not very fragrant. Very mild.

How awful. I had a similar thing happen when we sold our house. The new owner ripped out the whole garden to put in a swimming pool.

Golden sunset over Downhill Beach, looking west towards County Donegal. The sun sits low on the horizon behind a dark, rolling headland, casting a vivid golden glow across the sky. Heavy, textured clouds hang overhead, their undersides lit amber and gold. Wet sand in the foreground mirrors the light in long, rippled reflections, while waves roll in from the right, catching flashes of sunlight along their crests. The overall mood is dramatic and luminous, with strong contrasts between shadowed clouds and the glowing horizon.

Goodnight everyone. Wishing you all a peaceful rest of your day. Spare a thought for those who cannot have that peace. Take care of yourselves. #photography #Sunset #Ireland #Stunday #EastCoastKin

Thank you. It was a peony festival in a local park. So many different varieties and colours.

Oh no! This photo is from last year's peony festival. Sorry, I should have mentioned that. 🌸
