04.03.2026 14:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A European stonechat perched on a bramble stem, surrounded by fresh green leaves with reddish edges. The small bird has a warm orange chest, mottled brown back, and a pale wing patch. Its beak is stuffed with a messy bundle of dry grass, moss, and fine rootsβnest material so large it partly hides its faceβsuggesting it is busy building or lining a nest. The background is softly blurred green, making the bird and the tangle of nesting material stand out clearly.
Good morning. For the alt of todayβs #BirdOfTheDay #NestBuilders Iβm going with this Stonechat who was building a three room extension to the nest, all with sea views. #birds #photography #EastCoastKin

04.03.2026 13:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The vaulted ceiling of the central market in Covent Garden features a green wrought iron and glass pointed roof. Beneath that is a barrel shaped ceiling featuring wide beams of green wrought iron. Victorian lamps are suspended from the ceiling and the glass in the lamps is a light green colour. Outside of the market, in the distance, is a view of residential properties, featuring grey and orange brick with white painted trim around the windows.

04.03.2026 12:45 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A coot has built a nest in an old tire, floating on a canal. He has used twigs, pieces of rope, a few branches, and discarded paper. Although is looks quite uncomfortable, he seems very content to lie on it.
Not all birds build dainty little nests. Some, like this coot, will use an old tire, rope, paper, twigs, branches and anything else they can find. But, it's home to him.π€£

Beautiful rose, Linda. It's hard to ignore the depressing news but to be outside, with a camera in hand, is one way to do it. πΊπ¦
