Things I learned about Ralph Stein:
In addition to working on the Popeye daily comic strip for 5 years, Stein wrote a car column for the Syracuse Post Standard.
He was the son of Russian-Jewish immigrants, who likely escaped the pogroms.
Before enlisting for WWII, he was a racecar driver!
