Thanks - really appreciate your thoughts! Pezzulo et co allude to the core distinction between perceptual and active inference (which are governed by balancing accuracy/complexity, and risk/ambiguity), where active inference is akin to self-fulfilling prophesying.

Finally, we show how optimism affects action in a modified two-armed bandit task to measure optimistic action 🎰

We hope our model and simulations provide a computational basis for understanding optimism and can provide a basis for future research on optimism as a mental health interventions! 👩‍⚕️
