The difference is that the average person can easily understand its use. No one knew what an NFT was lol. But GenAI is at once a useful tool and a toy to play with. You can stay ignorant to its more negative implications or just straight up ignore them. Which as far as im concerned makes it worse.

On some real shit, the rapid normalization of GenAI being used for everything makes me sick. This is the most genuine form of disgust i have ever felt.
