13 years ago today. Cooking up a little something that would become Surgeon Simulator at Global Game Jam 2013.

I set I Am Fish on the border of Cornwall and Devon where I grew up. Since you're fish trying to get back the ocean I made the Tamar Bridge a prominent landmark of most levels to guide players.

A few times I've seen comments and videos of a local just shocked that a game has the Tamar Bridge in it.

Mike is acutely aware of how Surgeon Simulator almost wasn't a thing because "no one buys games like this". I can't imagine how many games don't go any further because they weren't lucky enough to have YouTube views as proof.

Early on in Lost Skies we had tutorial steps that told the player how much resources they needed. We got complaints it was too much.
We just removed those steps so the player figured out how much they needed more organically. The complaints went away, the amount stayed the same 😂

A player built a skyport in @lostskiesgame.bsky.social. You never get used to what players can pull off when you put creative systems in games :D

Binged Inscryption yesterday and I had to double check if the main character is called Luke for everyone else cos those 4th wall breaks were hitting different and I was starting to question it 😂
