So, it’s obviously too early to panic, but it’s a little unsettling that we’re clearly lacking in goal scoring, and yet the two attackers we spent 50 million or so on aren’t even ready for the bench. #BHAFC

Well, that was an infuriating half of football. #BHAFC

Agreed on all points. I do think we’ll see more loans/sales before the deadline though, because I don’t see how everyone who can play at 10 will get meaningful minutes without European football.

#BHAFC came on a bit towards the end of the half, but that was largely forgettable.

Rutter at the nine isn’t really working. Welbz almost certainly has to come on in the second half.

Oh, the FK was a terrible call, no argument there, but if you don’t want to get punished by a poor ref, play some of the game in the opposition’s half of the field.

They definitely didn’t create loads of chances, but we didn’t do anything at all outside of Gomez’s missed header. I’m not saying Newcastle had a great performance, it’s more a reflection of how poorly we played in the second half.

Pawson was poor today, but I agree that Newcastle were the much better side today and deserved to get something out of the match.

The injuries obviously haven’t done us any favours, but there’s a real fragility to this team that goes beyond that, in my opinion. Today, and last week are perfect examples of players panicking and not seizing opportunities.

Another underwhelming performance. Such a Jekyll and Hyde team this season. #BHAFC

He’s a free agent this summer, so it’s still possible, but I’m sure we’ll have competition to sign him.

We definitely need to strengthen at the back this summer. I don’t think either of them should be a regular starter next season.

Really frustrating. Game should already be over with some better finishing. One mistake from Dunk and it’s back to square one. #BHAFC

I love Minteh, but his decision making on the pitch is so, so bad sometimes. #BHAFC

Embarrassing. Every opportunity to rescue something and they’re completely bottling it. #BHAFC

We’ve responded pretty well to going behind early, but those first few minutes were absolutely terrible. Hopefully that doesn’t make the difference today. #BHAFC

Credit where it’s due: Forest are absolutely relentless. They’re an incredibly well drilled side. #BHAFC

It’s obviously a small sample size for Hürzeler, but it demonstrates that some of the questions about his immediate future (and I was as guilty as anyone after the Forest debacle) were a bit premature.

Hell of a way to get over the Fulham curse! #BHAFC

Minteh not having his best match in a Brighton shirt… #BHAFC

Hürzeler and I are simpatico, it would appear.

Game is crying out for some creativity in the middle of the park. I’d bring Gomez on for Ayari. #BHAFC

#BHAFC HT Thoughts:

Cagey start, but things opened up towards the end of the half.

Fulham have done a good job of defending compactly, and limiting chances, but van Hecke was clutch when the Cottagers got complacent.

Big second half coming up.

What a response! #BHAFC

Really nice ball from Iwobi, but I feel like van Hecke and Hinshelwood could’ve done better with Raul. #BHAFC

Haha, definitely a much better way to spend our morning. It was a solid team performance and my son assisted the winning goal!

01.02.2025 15:24 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

Yeah, not much return on investment so far.

01.02.2025 15:08 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

And to think, I was disappointed that I had to coach my son’s team today and couldn’t watch. Don’t want to be dramatic, especially since I didn’t see the game, but I don’t know if Hürzeler survives this.

At least my son’s team won 3-2. Probably saw better defensive solidity from U9 players #BHAFC

01.02.2025 14:53 — 👍 7    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 1

Simply not good enough. Consistently unable to figure out how to break down a side that’s content to sit back and defend.

If Hürzeler can’t figure this out, Europe remains a pipe dream.

#BHAFC

I can’t believe he didn’t get the start after his last performance. Unless he isn’t completely fit, there’s no justification for it.

25.01.2025 15:55 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

#BHAFC HT Thoughts:

Typical performance against a team near the bottom of the table. Plenty of possession, but no attacking thrust. The mistake that leads to a goal came earlier than usual, though.

Everton are going to Everton, even more so with a lead. We need a big response in the second half
