GT is live blogging too, I was working and the pics coming in have been super dramatic after what looked a straightforward operation earlier. It's going to be a mess for a while, and I would not want to be needing central trains for a few days...

I'm not sure it's had many more major ones than Edinburgh in my time up here, but it does seem to have a lot of smaller ones in buildings people want to knock down and redevelop...

They'll care when Euston trains stop in Carlisle instead of central...

Edinburgh just knocks things down, which seems easier...

I'd like the authorities to learn lessons, there's a vape shop across the street from me... Tbh if it is the batteries I think they will, the fire brigades will be insistent if there's a potential safety risk in hundreds of shops. The site is going to be a mess for a while tho.

Edinburgh tends to just knock down inconvenient old buildings, Glasgow does seem to prefer them to go on fire... This is a scary one tho, so close to central station.

This has been burning for hours now and is not getting any closer to being extinguished from the pictures I've been seeing. Serious investigation will be needed when it's safe, considering the number of vape shops around as well as Glasgow's propensity for buildings to go on fire...

No casualties reported, but apparently parts of the building have collapsed. Fire crews have been there for hours now, but the pix coming in are still scarily dramatic.

I grow dwarf green curled which they are much less keen on usually. But between the caterpillars (brassics), slugs (everything), and sparrows (peas, spinach and beetroot leaves) I always lose something.. sigh!

I frequently suffer but sometimes get lucky - kale is more reliable, they don't usually bother with that. Inundated with carrot fly tho, so depressing.

UK version is Saturday into Sunday so Mon is never shorter but it's harder to be late for work...

Well, mine is only about 6ftx10ft so manageable 😂 A strip of flowers at one end then as many veggies as I can cram in the rest of the space - it only has to feed me, so the fact I can only get eg 3 cabbages in is ok...

Good point. And much cheaper and faster too. But definitely you lose your seat if you change party, it's such a no-brainer.

Lost its deposit everywhere, wildly unpopular - it only had reps because of defections. An excellent reason why defection should mean by-election.

I think some commentators are too terrified to say he's making it up on a whim, so try and come up with logical reasons even if they're unlikely.

Always a juggle when it's not warm enough outside but things are getting crowded inside... I long for a heated greenhouse outside, but alas my garden is too tiny.

I've another month of 1-5C overnights so it's not worth me putting seeds in the ground - I start filling windowsills in the flat instead, by the time they're a decent size it's usually warm enough to shift them to my plastic greenhouse which basically acts as a cold frame.

You're obviously a lot further south than me, it'll be another month before Edinburgh is warm enough to sow outside! Must get the onions sown and on the windowsill tho...

I was just thinking that your audience isn't only in England and Wales, and some people who are in E&W might need a reminder that other places in the UK aren't changing, which highlights the insanity of this even more.
