I think it means that if nothing moves, there's no sense of time. And perhaps even that the concept of time would make no sense. Day and night happen because of motion.

The Northwest Corridor (Boston to Virginia) trains' seats don't recline for sleeping well (I've ridden numerous trips Boston –Baltimore round-trip).

The bathrooms are tiny, but I've been lucky that they were pretty clean on the overnight trains I rode. I packed a washcloth so I could give myself a sponge bath; I recommend that.

I've ridden cross country several times; the temperature is not consistent. Sometimes it's too warm, sometimes it's too cool. Once my car's AC went out as the train was traveling through Arizona in July.

It depends on the trains Amtrak uses for that route. Long haul trains have seats that recline pretty far and also have calf supports. But I've never ridden in that corridor.

If we do more than dance with quirky signs, they shoot us.

Don't be so sure. I lived two years in Malawi as a Peace Corps volunteer; all the locals I spoke to liked Trump. I think they recognized that he acts just like an African dictator, and they were comfortable with that.

I broke the story yesterday that masked ICE agents (not DOJ) were removing items including a personal computer from the home of Jonathan Ross, the ICE agent who shot Renee Good. I have yet to see a single news outlet cover this or an elected official even acknowledge it.
