Oh hey, finally searched and found a recording of the first time I saw Neil live in 1999. Crowd is about as loud and raucous as I remembered (and I don't think the crowd when I saw him solo in Chicago in 2014 was hooting and hollering nearly as much)

Nicknames for pets, sure. Grandparent nicknames was just something I was completely unaware of growing up

My MIL refused to be called anything other than "grandma" once our dude was born. I don't remember anyone growing up have nicknames for their grandparents, and I kinda question if it's much of a west coast thing
