Federal Judge is about to issue a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) against Immigration and ICE regarding Broadview. The TRO will require ICE to utilize Broadview as intended, specifically as a holding facility, and not as a prison.

It's happening all OVER the Chicago area. I agree that it's wrong that it's the places with more political/ media connections or more video that are getting noticed, but the message from Evanston isn't "poor us" -- it's act NOW in YOUR community to stop this. It will only spread if we don't resist.

NEWS: Federal agents crashed with woman’s car, pointed guns at her, dragged her out by legs, tossed her in a minivan, held her and (eventually) let her go without charges. This as Chicagoans say the immigration blitz is out of control. (DHS blames her.)

The local police I've spoken to are saying all we can do it witness, document, speak out, and sue. They're expressing confidence that we'll catch up with them and they'll pay at some point. I wish I had their confidence.

Appreciate this coverage but it is hard to explain to people not in the Chicago area that THESE ARE NOT PROTESTS.

This is people coming out of their homes, doing anything in their power to try to stop their neighbors from being kidnapped.

It is coming for your city next, please be prepared.

This is my neighborhood. It was as bad as it looks. There are no words for this level of inhumanity.

From an Evanston resident filming an arrest at Oakton/Asbury ~an hour ago:

"He was being very violent with her, I said ‘You got to stop that,’ and he said, ‘Step back or I’ll fucking shoot you.‘ I step back, and then I continue to record, at which point he turned around and pointed a gun at me.”
