Today marks 14 years since 17-year-old, unarmed Trayvon Martin was shot and killed while walking home.
14 years later, weβre still demanding a country where our children can walk home in peace β without being treated like a threat.
I know itβs difficult right now, but I insist that you seek and enjoy beautiful things, even if it seems frivolous or irresponsible in the face of overwhelming horror. I want you to feed yourself artistically, spiritually, and literally, because you canβt Do The Work when youβre starving.

SpaceX's 1 million AI satellites could cause "massive ozone depletion" and change the night sky forever - but the FCC has no requirement to check before approving them.
Astronomers are now scrambling to submit their concerns.

So, consider how this goes:
They deploy ICE to remove people who are βillegalβ
Kavanaugh says US citizens will be fine, once they show their IDs (sure, buddy)
Kansas just showed us they can & will invalidate the LEGALLY ISSUED IDs of CITIZENS immediately & without warning
Because they want to
Of course isnβt just driving. Itβs voting. Working. Travelling. Picking up a package. Applying for credit. Applying for a job. Renting a room. Filling prescriptions. Visiting loved ones in the hospital. Not expired either, but legally invalid.
26.02.2026 01:43 β π 2997 π 684 π¬ 7 π 16As of tonight, licenses of trans people across Kansas are being invalidated en masse, enabling the overnight criminalization of an entire group of people for going about our lives. Itβs often said you never know when youβre living through history, so let me assure you: thatβs whatβs happening now.

Tell me again we should push AI into schools.
If you think abolishing ICE is too radical, I'd love to learn what you think there is left to save of an agency that is more interested in deportation counts than saving the life of a two-month old baby with bronchitis.

$1 billion is an annual $100,000 salary for ten thousand years.
$780 billion is an annual $100 MILLION salary for almost eight thousand years.
No one is worth this. Tax breaks, wage theft, and not paying for what you steal from the planet is where is money came from.
Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. Itβs always a matter of will not resources.

It's also worth remembering that this narrative is Nazi in a way that actually pre-dates the Holocaust.
Hitler rose to power telling a story of a Germany shackled by guilt and shame (and of course the material concessions fallout) from WWI
Every single time a story like this is reported, we must assume that there are many many more that do not.

This would be such a (rightfully) massive issue if it was human error, but tech bros have convinced everyone with money and decision-making power that humans are expendable for the sake of AI, so here we are now I guess. Horrifying.

I watched the show again this morning.
Yes, it was an incredible performance. Joyful, emotional, uplifting.
It was a love letter to humanityβ¦to Puerto Ricoβ¦and more.

I say this regularly. People use performative as a substitute for 'inauthentic' and we could all just say the words we mean to say. Erving Goffman helps us to understand that we perform all of the time in real life. Life itself is often a performance of self.

Columbus introduced sugar cane to the Caribbean and his son opened the first plantation. They were the originators of this brutality.
So many Caribbean people died on these plantations that they eventually had to start bringing in slaves from Africa.
Average lifespan once there was only 7 years.
